Available for Immediate Release: Design Your Own Tennis Ball with Ballomize

NEW YORK, NY – Imagine having the ability to play with a tennis ball that is both functional and aligned with a certain aesthetic taste.

Ballomize is a brand new line of tennis balls, unlike any other that have been played with on tennis courts in the sport’s near 200-year history. Ballomize offers players a unique opportunity to design their tennis ball how they want it to look, feel and play, while still adhering to playing regulations. The idea emerged from analyzing the tennis market and realizing there was a niche for unusual customization.

“In looking at what’s out there for professional and recreational players, we came to the realization that balls for sale are just too regimented and uninteresting,” said Fran Steele, founder and CEO of Ballomize. “Society has evolved toward people wanting personalization; they want a tennis ball that reflects their personality rather than that of what mainstream brands think their consumers need. And in light of the recent events in Indian Wells and Miami, we want equality for men and women in terms of the balls bouncing off of their racquets.”

Two of the standard ball types will include a pink ball and a blue one. The pink ball caters to women who enjoy riding on the coattails of men, while the blue one mirrors the color of a certain part of men when women are too busy riding coattails than anything else of theirs.

“A man is not going to just play with any ball,” said Steele of how picky tennis players can act, especially before they serve. “But what that man doesn’t realize, is that they can now practice with a ball of their choosing.”

Some sample custom pre-orders include extra fuzzy balls, balls with purple stripes instead of the typical white, rubber-like letters resistant to hard hits and even a speciality bright pink ball that’s extra bouncy, simulating the movement breasts make when running toward a ball wearing a thin bra. Regardless of design chosen, all balls have equal bounces.

“Equality – in every facet of the game – makes me want to get up in the morning and produce some quality balls for [eventually] every tennis player,” said Steele about a sport she has played recreationally since birth.

With a background in playing all sports and covering them, Steele entered the ball-building industry on a whim and was inspired after watching Indian Wells and Miami competition. It was then she realized just how sensitive tennis players are to the types of balls they play with. And that this might mean they want a ball of their choosing, rather than whatever the ball boy hands over or what tournament officials provide.

“People are just tired of dealing with the middle man and having to go along with the norm,” said Steele regarding traditional tennis play. “Without fully revealing the technology, let’s just say the system mirrors that of Cher’s Clueless wardrobe and her outfit selection process."
